Entry requirements for the Kurdistan Region of Iraq ONLY
Spanish citizens can obtain a paid visa on arrival in the Kurdistan Region, which costs 110,000 Iraqi Dinar (€60 approx.), valid for 30 days. This also applies to the following nationalities:
Europe: Albania, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lichtenstein, Lithuania, Lebanon, Luxembourg, Malta , Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia,Switzerland, Sweden, United Kingdom and the Vatican.
Other: Australia, Brasil, Canada, Japan, Kuwait, New Zealand, Qatar, South Korea, Turkey, USA, UAE
All other nationals (for example Kurds from Syria) are required to obtain a visa prior to travelling to the Region.
FLIGHT INFORMATION
At present regular scheduled flights operate to the Kurdistan Region by; Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa, Gulf Air, Royal Jordanian, Etihad, Middle East Airlines, Egypt Air, Qatar Airways, Cyrpus Airways, Air Berlin, Fly Dubai and Iraqi Airways.
Regular flights to the Kurdistan Region run from nine European cities; Vienna, Frankfurt, Munich, Dusseldorf, London, Manchester, Stockholm, Gothenburg, Athens, Amsterdam and Copenhagen.
Charter flights to the Kurdistan Region are operated by Atlas Jet from Istanbul, Air Berlin, Air Sweden, Viking Airline and others.
The Kurdistan Region’s airports
The Kurdistan Region has two international airports at Erbil and Suleimaniah. Most flights from Europe and the Middle East fly directly to Kurdistan, without going via Baghdad. Several IATA members scheduled carriers already fly to Erbil, and more IATA airlines are expected to start flights there. Several charter companies also operate flights to Erbil or Suleimaniah.
