Nechirvan Barzani was elected President of Kurdistan Region

Nechirvan Barzani was elected President of the Kurdistan Region by Kurdistan’s Parliament on May 28. He will step down from his current position as Prime Minister after taking his oath of office on June 10 in a special ceremony. The President, after his June 10 swearing in, will designate and task a Prime Minister with forming a new cabinet in 30 days

Numerous diplomats and officials congratulated the new President with his new post wishing him all success.
