Prime Minister Masrour Barzani receives a high delegation of Iraqi Interior Ministry

During the meeting, which was attended by KRG Minister of Interior, Al-Yasiri, welcomed the positive atmosphere between Erbil and Baghdad, pointing out that there is a good understanding between the Federal Ministry of Interior and the KRG Ministry of Interior, and stressed that all outstanding issues should be solved in accordance with the constitution.

Kurdistan Region Prime Minister thanked the Federal Minister of Interior for the coordination and cooperation between both ministries. The two sides also touched on the issue of entry payment fees of ten thousand dinars by Iraqi tourists.

Prime Minister Barzani explained that the issue of entry cards was to protect security in the Kurdistan Region, and that the fees were not imposed on nationality only, but included all citizens outside the region.

Prime Minister Barzani pointed out that the mechanism for issuing the card for tourists coming to the region will change its name to (security guarantee), and ordered to lift fees on tourists from central and southern Iraq.

New French Consul General assumes office in Kurdistan Region

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (dfr.gov.krd) – Minister Safeen Dizayee received Mr Olivier Decottignies, new Consul General of the Republic of France to the Kurdistan Region who visited KRG Department of Foreign Relations for taking up his new duties in Erbil.

Head of KRG Department of Foreign Relations Minister Dizayee welcomed Mr Decottignies and wished him success in performing his duties in the Region, and affirmed KRG DFR’s full support to further expanding of Kurdistan Region and Republic of France ties at all levels.

Minister Dizayee said that the Kurdistan Region and Republic of France connect with good ties of friendship. Both sides also stressed the mutual willingness to further enhance their bilateral cooperation and ties.

EU Head of Liaison Office Ms. Clarisse PASZTORY ends her tenure in Erbil

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (dfr.gov.krd) – Head of the European Union Liaison Office Mr. Clarisse PASZTORY met at the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Department of Foreign Relations (DFR) Minister Safeen Dizayee Head of DFR on the occasion of completion of her term in Erbil.

At the meeting, Head of DFR Minister Dizayee thanked Ms. PASZTORY for her role in developing KRG and EU institutions through humanitarian aid, capacity building, sharing experience and expertise and wished her success in her future postings.

Ms. PASZTORY thanked DFR and KRG institutions for their support in strengthening of bilateral cooperation between the two sides.

Minister Dizayee and Ms. PASZTORY exchanged views on the current developments in the Region and priorities of the KRG’s work program.

President of the Kurdistan Region Issues a Message on the Occasion of Eid Al-Adha

President Barzani issued the following message on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha

On the occasion of Eid Al-Adha, I extend my warmest congratulations to the families of martyrs, Anfal Genocide victims, our gallant Peshmergas, our pilgrims and all Muslims in the Kurdistan Region, Iraq and all the world. I hope this Eid will bring happiness and good blessings to everyone.

All ethnic and religious groups of the Kurdistan Region have used Eids and occasions as a means to renew their commitment to the values of coexistence, tolerance and harmony and to portray the high values of our culture. I hope this Eid and the upcoming ones will deepen and protect this culture and the human values, and strengthen harmony and cooperation for a better future for all.

I urge everyone to cooperate in complying with the traffic instructions, help in safeguarding citizens and guests, conserving the environment and the nature of Kurdistan.

Once again, happy Eid Al-Adha to everyone.
