German Federal Minister of Economic Cooperation and Development, Dirk Niebel, visited the Kurdistan Region during a trip to Iraq. He is positively impressed with kurdish progress and promotes investment in Kurdistan. Niebel met President Barzani and Prime Minister Salih today.

Kurdistan Regional Government and Veneto Region from Italy have signed a MOU to strengthen ties. Mr. Luca Zaia, President of Veneto Region, said that Kurdistan is strategically important and will convey to Italy's Minister for Foreign Affairs the need to open a Consulate in Erbil.
