President Barzani insisted on the importance of the role of women in the Kurdistan society and reminded that one of the foundational reasons for the Kurdish struggle has been to secure women´s rights. President Barzani held a meeting with female rights activists and representatives of local woman’s organizations.

German Federal Minister of Economic Cooperation and Development, Dirk Niebel, visited the Kurdistan Region during a trip to Iraq. He is positively impressed with kurdish progress and promotes investment in Kurdistan. Niebel met President Barzani and Prime Minister Salih today.

Kurdistan Regional Government and Veneto Region from Italy have signed a MOU to strengthen ties. Mr. Luca Zaia, President of Veneto Region, said that Kurdistan is strategically important and will convey to Italy's Minister for Foreign Affairs the need to open a Consulate in Erbil.

President Barzani and the Swedish Ambassador to Iraq discussed many issues at their meeting. Kurdistan Region President mentioned the help Sweden offered in times of oppression in Kurdistan, and the Swedish Ambassador has show appreciation for KRG’s effort with displaced Christians.

Kurdistan Region President Masoud Barzani and Prime Minister Barham Salih on Wednesday met the Vatican’s envoy to Iraq, and said that they will continue to provide refuge and give their strong support to Iraq’s displaced Christians.

Kurdistan Region President Masoud Barzani reiterated his strong support for displaced Christians and called on the international community and the Iraqi federal government to assist the KRG in its efforts to provide shelter and other basic needs for the displaced Christians.

Durango, Spain (krgspain.org)- The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG)  participated in Durango’s International Book Fair with the office’s representative Daban Shadala. The fair took place between the 4th and the 9th of December in Durango with a total of 138 exhibitors and having Kurdistan as this year’s guest country.
