Mr. Daban Shadala worked for the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan as the party's representative to Austria for seven years.

He was appointed to his post as the Kurdistan Regional Government representative to Spain by the 6th KRG cabinet, led by the former Prime Minister, Barham Salih.

The KRG Spain office, based in Madrid, will focus on establishing strong relations between the Kurdistan Region, and Spain.

In his PUK position, Mr. Shadala organized many training courses in Austria for Iraqi Kurdish doctors, engineers, university professors, as well as opportunities for Kurdish academics to conduct research in Austria.

Mr. Shadala has also taken Iraqi Kurdish political and business delegations to Austria to explore different ways to improve relations between Austria and the Kurdistan Region, as well as invest in the Region’s private sector.

Health treatment for Kurdish children and youth development are two areas that Mr. Shadala is particularly passionate about. He has organized for many Iraqi Kurds to get medical treatment in Austria for complicated health problems that cannot be treated in the Kurdistan Region.

In his seven years working for the PUK in Austria, Mr. Shadala has developed excellent relations and contacts within the Austrian government, as well as with Austrian media, non-governmental organization, and research, medical and educational institutions. He now aims to do the same in Spain.

Mr. Shadala aims to do the same in Spain and will work hard to establish and develop relations within all fields. He will put particular emphasis on health, education, Kurdish youth development, and strengthening the Kurdistan Region private sector.

Mr. Shadala  is fluent in Kurdish, German, Persian and English.
