The Kurdistan Region is currently experiencing rapid economic development. There is high demand for foreign direct investment in many areas and sectors of the economy, including natural resources (gas and oil), infrastructure, housing and construction, tourism and leisure, agriculture, communications and ICT, as well as other sectors.
The Kurdistan Region does not only offer investment opportunities, it is also considered the gateway to the rest of Iraq. International companies and investors are setting up business in the Kurdistan Region and will be well prepared to expand operations to the rest of Iraq as the security situation gradually improves.
The Trade and Investment desk therefore is responsible for communicating the economic opportunities and demand for development that exists in the Kurdistan Region. It also works to attract investment in the Kurdistan Region economy and stimulate international trade between Kurdistan and Spain.
